Scottish Bank Holidays 2023
Below you will find all the bank holiday dates for Scotland in 2023.
Each country within the United Kingdom has slightly different bank holidays and/or celebrates different days and occasions (England and Wales share the same days). There are nine days’ bank holiday in Scotland each year though in 2022 there were ten days after Her Majesty’s Government granted the whole of the UK an additional day to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday 3rd June. The late May bank holiday was also moved to Thursday 2nd June so we could further benefit from a long weekend.
There is also an additional bank holiday in 2023 on Monday 8th May to celebrate the King’s coronation.
In contrast to England and Wales and Northern Ireland, Scotland celebrates 2nd January, Early August and St. Andrew’s Days as bank holidays but not Easter Monday or the Late August bank holiday (yes, it can get a bit complicated).
