Scottish Bank Holidays 2027

Scottish bank holidays 2027

Bank holidays in Scotland: a time for ceilidhs, castle visits, and the eternal optimism of planning a picnic in the drizzle. Whether you’re hiking the Highlands, hunting Nessie, or just enjoying an extra lie-in, these special days are as much a part of Scottish culture as haggis and a good dram! Below you will find all the bank holiday dates for Scotland in 2027.

Each country within the United Kingdom has slightly different bank holidays and/or celebrates different days and occasions (England and Wales share the same days). There are nine days’ bank holiday in Scotland each year though in 2022 there were ten days after Her Majesty’s Government granted the whole of the UK an additional day to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Friday 3rd June. The late May bank holiday was also moved to Thursday 2nd June so we could further benefit from a long weekend.

In contrast to England and Wales and Northern Ireland, Scotland celebrates 2nd January, Early August and St. Andrew’s Days as bank holidays but not Easter Monday or the Late August bank holiday (yes, it can get a bit complicated).
